Sketch This!

Today I completed a challenge for Sketch This! I did a Halloween theme because I am trying to use some older paper. This card has some Daisy D, Karen Foster, and scraps. Another fun challenge. Lately, I am getting into using sequins. I think the Stickles are much easier but the sequins give a texture and size I was looking for. I am off for the weekend. Last week before starting new job. I am so excited. :-) Happy weekend everyone!

Di Hickman's challenge and part 2 of ending my bad relationship

I am on a roll. :-) Loving the challenges. This one I made fairly quickly this morning prior to getting the second part life change. I read that most women get their haircut after a bad relationship. Well, I will have to admit that teaching was a huge part of my life, in fact, it took over my life for several months. So ending that disastrous relationship made me want to purge bad habits of working 10 hour days with little or no care to my personal appearance. Now, I am six inches shorter, my hair that is and feel better than ever! Whew! Part three soon to come! Stay tuned!

CPS # 66 Challenge

I thought I would try this challenge. First time ever. It was fun to create. :-)
I used K & Co. Lotus Paper and die cuts. The vintage images are really cute!

Oh Joy! Part 1

Part 1 of new life entails creating, creating, creating, Create away I did!
The blue celebrate box is for the shabby summer swap too (see earlier post for paper cone). I filled it with goodies she will hopefully like. The other is an altered tin using Scenic Route papers. The tag reads, "joy" I made the poinsettias from silk flowers and added some leaves and ribbon to give it a fancier lid.

Amy Butler Papers

Playing around with Amy Butler's new Lotus line. Fun paper and die cuts. Super easy to make a card in under ten minutes.

Yoga Badge Album

I put together J's album today. She is going to be so happy that I did not put any journaling on the pages. The one I made for my mother had a few words in reference to the picture shown and she thought it was too much. Hmmm. Anyhow, I made this badge album so she could carry it with her. She might not like the glitter and flowers though. I have my fingers crossed that she will approve. :-)

Blah, blah, oh and I quit!

I have been really busy with work since portfolios and progress reports are due in less than 3 weeks. This takes away from my creative time. :-( But I did squeeze in an hour to make these cards. This is the Pink Paislee Office Lingo and Spring Fling line combined with various embellishments. :-) Perhaps one day the dream job of designing will pan out.

back to work I go

First day back at work and I survived! ;-) I think the hiatus has been very good for me. I forgot how loving and sweet my kids are. Wow! One told me that he was not going to let me out of his sight. I had to keep reassuring him that I was not going anywhere. It was the best welcome back I could have received.
Yesterday was Mother's Day and boy did I have a long day. My DD was kind and extremely helpful. I had tons of things to do before we went for the traditional feast at my parents. I took some photos (okay like two hundred) of J to complete an album for my Mom. Here is a photo I really adored.

Card Day

I had lots of cards I was working on. I guess you can never have too many cards. I am soaking up these last few days of freedom before I hit the grindstone again. I know it will be awhile before I can create and share once I am back at work. TFL!

Productive

I was successful in finishing an album for a friend's birthday. Sorry Teenah! :-( But I did this tonight while shamefully watching AI. Am still using my MM paper and chipboard. I really love this line! Thanks for looking!

Round Tin Album

Well, I finished my tin album for a swap. I am loving the Making Memories 5th Avenue line. I got the tin awhile back. It has a magnet on the back which makes it quite useful! Currently it is stuck to my "creating table" (kitchen table). Thanks for looking!

As thousands else have written

I vowed not to blog but I fear I caved. I joined a new group and feel a little out of place not having a blog to share. Plus, all that eye candy out there has me creating like mad. Thanks for reading this! I appreciate it! :-)

This weekend I was busy making mother's day gifts and working on items for various swaps.

The first picture is for my Not So Shabby Summer Swap. I will add detailed pictures later.
The second picture is my mother's day gifts for family. A few months back I collected these little green glass bottles and thought they would make really cute vases. I plan on adding some greenery to spruce them up.
