Snow, snow, snow!

We got walloped with snow this weekend which caused one housebound day which is always good to me. :-) It was fun watch it come down and cover everything while nice and warm inside. The day after is always the worst because clean up AKA snow shoveling is not fun. :-(
Anyhow, I got some creative time and would like to share with you the items I made today.

First this, is a Maya Road 5x5 -3 ring binder I altered with paint and paper. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #49 for the cover.

I love this paper and embellishments that my dear friend Pam sent me. It's Anna Griffith. I like the pink, green, and red mixed with kraft paper which was the challenge for
JUGS #12.

Regina at The Cutting Cafe' has been busy making new Valentine files for the cafe' that you will love! I sure do! ♥♥♥

These two cards use Valentine Big Stuff which are 5 inch words with decorative letters.

These are such beautiful words and can be used on cards or scrapbook pages.

The last two cards use the All About Valentine's Day file which is HUGE! There are 46 images and sentiments that are perfect for any Valentine's Day craft. Be sure to view this amazing set by clicking on the link above.

Secret Santa Soiree swap

What a delight it was to receive my Secret Santa Soiree package yesterday! This was a swap I joined a few months back oragnized by Amy and Georgie. I was so busy last night with Jacquelynn's chorale concert, I did not have time to open it up. However, I did today and in my excitement...I forgot to take a before picture of my presents wrapped. I did get an "after" picture with the wrap off. :-) Does that count? Anyhow...
Look at what my SS sent me! I am so excited to use the new Stabilo's! A set of 25 colors! I desperately needed some markers to fill in digital and stamp images. The notepad and mini cards are always appreciated because I write little notes for family and friends. Thank you SS! I love everything!

Here's the pile of Christmas wrapping paper:
And being the bad blogger that I am, I failed to share the awesome organizer she made for me and sent a few weeks back. She even personalized it with my intial and used my favorite colors! Oh joy!

Thank you Secret Santa! You completely made my day!!! A huge thank you to Georgie and Amy for organizing this swap (there were 109 participants) and making it so fantastic!

The Little Shabby Box Card Contest and a GIVEAWAY

Yucky Sunday here with lots of rain. We are hoping it ends soon so we can hit the grocery store. I think we have a few more hours to wait it out.
I discovered a new blog yesterday and I was excited to see that they are having a card contest. The Little Shabby Box is a store that sells lovely card kits, vintage items, and beautiful trims. The design team offers examples that are ever so inspiring!

For the contest, 2 sketches are provided for you to base your cards from. I had fun with the sketches and was definitely challenged because I was unsure how to handle the cluster of circles on the second but it suddenly just clicked for me. I love it when that happens. :-)

This is Sketch #1:

Cutting Cafe cards

Have you seen all the new Cutting Cafe files? Oh my! I love using these for Christmas cards because I can make each card unique with all the versatile sayings and images. I combined several different files to make these Christmas cards.

This first one uses All About Christmas and Christmas Long Phrases. I used Card Patterns #44 for this design

Inside of the card I used this new sentiment from the Christmas Card Inside Greetings:
I used Love Hearts from Cutting Cafe that I turned into a Christmas card by using the word "Christmas" from All About Christmas
I also used this sentiment from All About Christmas inside:

Thanks for stopping by!

A Merry, Joy, and Together

Hey there! I hope you had a delightful Friday! I am happy to type that Virginia may receive it's first snow for this winter tomorrow! Exciting to me. My only hope is it does not delay any flights for Sunday because my DD is returning home from a trip and I am eager to give her a squeeze(hug). Today she told me she missed me on our daily phone call and my heart just sank. I could tell she really meant it because she said it right after I asked her what she was doing. Awww. Sorry-it gets me teary eyed.

In an effort to keep busy and take my mind off her being gone, I worked on a some cards this evening. I know I have multiple cards using the Bo Bunny Tis the Season papers and tonight I created another. I am determined to use all of it this holiday season. Hope you aren't too tired of seeing this line. I seriously love this line and the St. Nick collection as well. I am getting down to scrap pieces now so think I will meet my goal.

This first card is for CardPatterns # 43.

supplies: cardstock: kraft; pattern paper: Bo Bunny St. Nick; ribbon: craft supply; floral picks: Michael's; button: craft supply; twine: Martha Stewart; ink: Color Box Roan

Next is my interpretation of CPS sketch #144:

cardstock: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; pattern paper: Bo Bunny Tis The Season; trim: Making Memories; glitter: Stickles Ranger; alphabet stickers: Bo Bunny Tis The Season; other: Zig ink pen used to outline letters

and to shake it up a bit... I used SEI papers and embellishments for Laura's #40 sketch for 2S4Y

supplies: cardstock: Stampin Up; pattern paper and chipboard: SEI Lovebirds; floral leaves: Making Memories; ribbon: craft supply; stamps: 7 Gypsies; ink: Ranger Distress Sepia; button: Dress It Up; flower: Dollar Store; other: Glimmer Mist Snow Angel used on flower

That's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Just squeakin' in my 2S4Y for the week!

Autumn Chic

I have a little Thanksgiving house to share today. Making Memories "Autumn Splendor" line is my favorite Fall paper line. I love these papers and sadly I can not find them any longer. I used the last of my collection on this project. I painted the entire house brown and then covered it with 2 different papers from the Making Memories pack. I loved the copper glitter branch paper and found a glittered leaf pick that matched nicely at M*'s. I thought the cream tulle paired with olive sheer ribbon gave a soft touch with a little punch of color. I am sending this to a dear friend. Not telling who though in case they stop by here. ;) Inside I made a mini album that matches to record all those Thanksgiving moments. My camera's batteries quit on me so I was not able to get photos tonight. :-(

Did you see that CPS is looking for 3 card designers? I was tickled beyond delight when I read this news! CPS offers great card sketches each week with awesome sponsors! The DT always have incredible examples with creative ideas that inspire. Here is the latest card sketch #143:

Supplies: cardstock: Recollection black and cream; pattern paper, trim, sticker, rub-on and die cut: Making Memories Sabrina; other: black floss; pink rhinestone; tools:Creative Memories circle cutter

Hurry and get your application in!

Quick Friday post

Squeezing in a few cards before the week is over for me. I have the 2S4Y card sketch (Laura's #39) which I also used some big ribbon for the CARDS blog challenge and then I tried M's #4 sketch. I think it's the sweetest thing that Savitri's daughter loves to draw sketches and make a card based on them. She's the cutest and her cards are amazing! I think she's one talented card designer!

I used Bo Bunny papers. I think this might be my favorite line for the holiday season. I love the colors and the whimisical designs.
I wanted to show a close up of the tiny gingerbread button I filled in with some glitter.

For M's sketch, I did a little hand stitching which I always like to do except when my needle gets stuck smack dab in the middle of the a glue dot. Ick! Yucky because it goops up my needle. :-(

A beautiful Sunday to all!

Lots to share on this glorious Sunday! I had a wonderful trip to Raleigh, NC for the ACSI conference. It was a blast to get to hang out with ladies from work. We chatted the entire drive down and back. I laughed so hard at times that I had tears in my eyes. What a great bunch of gals I work with. The conference had some uplifting seminars that were insightful. I look forward to sharing the information I learned in class. Oh how I miss college. Okay, well maybe not the papers I had to write.;-)

Thank you everyone for playing along with the The Cutting Cafe giveaway. I really appreciate every one's kind words and wish I could give everyone a prize. However, there can only be one winner and as
promised through random selection, the winner is....

****Bonnie****
her comment:

Oh my oh my these are sooo beautiful....such gorgeous talent and lovely papers and embellishments...love the santa paper with the reindeer where did you find that? I can't stop looking ata them!!! Thank you for such gorgeous inspiration :) Bonnie x

Bonnie please email me so I can send you the file. :-)

Today was a beautiful day in Virginia and my family and I took advantage of it by taking a bike ride. It was in the mid 70's today which is perfect for cycling. We rode through the neighborhood looking at the fall leaves on the trees and the ground, the geese waddling by the pond, and spotted a neighbor's Christmas tree light up in the window. I am so not ready for Christmas. It feels like I just hung up my Fall wreath. The days are passing quickly though and soon the holiday season will be here. So I mustered up some enthusiasm and made a Christmas box filled with candy today.

Nicole the owner of Creatively Green sent me a huge box of supplies last week that included Clay Artz which are handmade polymer clay embellishments. The red polka dot mitten is adorable with it's glitter! If you want to see all the cool sets she offers click here.

I used The Cutting Cafe Christmas All Around for the sentiment and the pattern paper is Bo Bunny. I copied a box Nicole had sent me in my package. It was crushed beyond use in delivery so I opened it up and copied it. I found a template on the web here if you want to make one.

Next is my card for sketch #41 at Card Patterns. I seriously have an addiction because every Saturday I check the site as soon as I wake up to see what the new sketch is and how the amazing designers have used it. Yep, I'd say that's definitely an addiction. Anyhow, here's my card:

Most supplies came from Creatively Green . The cardstock is 100% recycled with texture. I love it! I have a 20% off coupon for you too! Just use code AD11 and you will receive 20% off plus a free gift with purchase!
Supplies: Creatively Green cardstock, Chambray Green leaf ribbon, Jar kit ( vintage schoolbook paper, fabric, buttons, and flowers), K & Co. pattern paper, Cloud 9 Sweet Things epoxy sticker, Stampin' Up So Saffron ink, and Target cream ribbon

Cutting Cafe' Giveaway!

It's here! The time to share cards I made with a new file from The Cutting Cafe. I used the Christmas Gift Tags file which is huge! There are 14 different tags in this file and each one is uniquely shaped. These assorted tags are perfect for the holiday season. Wouldn't it be sweet to make a set for a friend or family member?
I printed mine on pattern paper and added some ribbon, floral picks, and buttons because I couldn't resist but these tags would be perfect without embellishments! :-)

Best of all...I am able to offer one lucky person this set for free! How can you win this Cutting Cafe' file? Simply leave me a comment on this post before November 14th 12 AM EST time and you will be entered in the drawing! I will randomly draw a winner on November 15th and announce the winner right here on my blog. Good luck!
