You're a Star!

It's time to share my Say It With Sentiments card for Paper Playtime.  Our challenge is anything goes so hope you will join in! We are sponsored  by Freckled Fawn who makes this great vintage washi tape I used on my card.
I used MME's American Made Papers.  I pulled my punches out to make several shapes on this card. I feel bad when they get neglected.  ;-)  I sewed two circles together and popped the star up with foam dots.   I cut  a banner for my star punch out and stamped my sentiment "You're a Star" with black ink and then accented with a few rhinestones.  The washi tape holds my red stripe paper to the front panel.  I then matted the entire piece to a white card base.
Challenges I would like to enter my card in:
2 Sisters: #96 Stripes or Plaid
Corrosive Challenges: #151 Feeling Punchy
JUGS: #141 Red, White, and Blue
Secret Crafter: #190 Red, White, and Blue

Summer Vacation Mini for SRM Stickers

Here's a mini  album I made using  tags and journal brackets plus lots of stickers and fun  photos.  Warning photo heavy! I used stickers from Express Yourself #42039 Water Fun, Sticker Sentiments #51011 Summer, and We've got Your Border #57002 Birthday.  I like using various shapes to create a unique formed album.  This mini was so much fun to complete using a few scraps of paper from Basic Grey PB and  J  and tags plus  a couple of sticker sheets.  I hope my daughter likes it.
I started with an Anna Griffin journal bracket and added stickers from #51011 Summer and  #42039 Water Fun.  I cut the dictionary word sea shore down for the "by the sea".
The back side is a view from hotel with the first part of the dictionary sticker for seashore.

This sticker is from the  Water Fun sheet

Both stickers are from the Water Fun sheet.

I used a red border sticker from Birthday border sheet under the stripe paper for this with the Surf's Up from Water Fun and a circular light blue sentiment from the same sheet.

More stickers from Water Fun!

I combined Water Fun and Summer on these last two.

Summer Fun for Vintage Street Market

It's the most wonderful time of the year for me!  Summer!  I love  hot weather and being able to sit outside  on my patio and enjoy nature's beauty.  Right now the temperatures are perfect for outdoor events and my creations for this month were made for my sweet nephew's birthday which we celebrated recently with a cook out.  I wrapped a gift with a home made pompom and made a money pocket.
My nephew is really into saving money for a trip the family is taking to Universal so I gave him cash and wanted a cute holder to tuck the money in.  I decided to make my own with a manilla folder.  This is super easy and I will share with you how.
First cut down a folder to the size you want.  I made mine 4 1/2 x 10.  Fold in half and score with bone folder.  Mat a piece of Party Games decorative print paper to front and stitch sides together.  I love the vibrant colors of the paper paired with the shiney finish.  Voila!  A gift card pouch is made and it's nice and sturdy.
Next I added a scallop crepe paper border that I sewed along the bottom.  I covered the seam edges by creating little bows with red Twirly Twine.
I then made a label with white card stock and cut a tiny strip of red foil also from Party Games.  The pennants are cut from the diamond die cuts in the set as well and then I used stickers for the date and sentiment.  The Paper Sheets and Tags sets offer a wide variety of items and are a tremendous value for all you get!  Plus they are on sale this month.  Check it out here.  A few yellow rhinestones completed my project.
If you want a contrasting background for the inside of the pocket, line with gift wrap paper.
And because I like to give something for him to open, I wrapped a box of candy in the decorative print paper and made a pompom from yellow crepe paper from the Party Games set.
I cut strips of the crepe paper and tied together in the middle.  It's as easy as that!  I wrapped the gift and tied a piece of aqua Twirly Twine around it to make a bow with a red button to secure.
I used the ice cream die cut and added the letter "C" from the decorative printed paper sheets.  It is attached with a bull frog clip.  I didn't realize the irony of this till later with the frog print.  ;-) A small rhinestone again to embellish and my gift was wrapped.
I hope this inspires you to create a fun birthday gift or even a Father's Day gift.  Happy Summer to you!

A Father's Wish

Summer is almost officially here on the calendar and the temps here in Virginia are reaching into the 90's.  I love it!  With Summer comes many birthdays and celebrations in my family.  Things are about to become even more chaotic with two birthdays, one anniversary, and Father's Day in one week.  I am on a card frenzy if you will!
I made this card featuring a Bugaboo stamp for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge.  I have kept it flat and embellishment free since it's for my dad.
I used My Mind's Eye and Simple Stories papers with a little stitching.  The stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps.  Thanks for looking!

Live Simply

Sundays sure seem to be meant for simple times in my house.  How about you?
So this week Sentimental Sundays has a polka dot challenge and is being sponsored by Doodle Pantry.  I chose this chamomile image for my card.  I paired it with Basic Grey's Picadilly floral dot print and a lavender polka dot from supply.  The green card stock was stamped with small dot stamp in snow white ink.  It does not show as well as I had hoped.   A SRM Sticker for my sentiment and then twine from the Twinery to accent.
Thank you for looking and hope you will join us!
